BOURNEMOUTH INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON

We are super excited to host the Great Britain Age Group Team European Sprint Qualifier alongside our Standard Distance, Aquabike and Aquathlon events. 

All of our events are open to all and many first-timers become triathletes with us at Bournemouth, however, if you wish to be considered for the European Champion selection please read the British Triathlon website carefully HERE. You must meet the criteria set by British Triathlon. 

This is the 4th year Bournemouth has hosted either a major event or qualifier and from experience we sell out every time so we really encourage you to enter now and do not miss out. 

Bournemouth International Triathlon is located on the west side of Bournemouth Pier. Both sprint and standard distance swims start on the award-winning blue flag beach just under the zig zag of West Cliff Gardens before heading out of Bournemouth on a fast bike course towards the market town of Ringwood on the edge of The New Forest. You then finish by running along the promenade to finish back on the sand!

Sprint Distance Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run *GB Age Group European Qualifer

Standard Distance Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run 

Aquathlon Sprint: 750m swim, 5km run

Aquabike Standard: 1500m swim, 40km bike

Bournemouth was one of the first Triathlons to hit the South Coast. It has been raced by thousands including Olympians and Triathletes that went onto to become pros!

Want to become a Challenging Events Marshal? Volunteers take on many important tasks, from car parking, helping on registration, marshalling out on the course to running a water stop. Marshalling is a super fun day out and without your support to help us deliver the best possible event, our events just wouldn't be able to run. You really can make a huge difference! 

Each event is different but you will have a dedicated manager to brief you on your duties and look after you throughout the day. Timings will vary from event to event. We will provide you with a high visibility vest so that you are seen to be part of our event.
